This Sunday, we celebrate the beginning of a new liturgical year with the First Sunday of Advent. This is one of my favorite seasons of the year because it calls us to renew our hope. Christian hope is not some random wishful thinking. It is the anticipation of something that we KNOW is coming and that something (someone) is Jesus Christ who comes to us in history, in mystery, and in majesty. Here are links to lots of Advent resources that I know you’ll find helpful!
- Preparing for Advent: A Webinar (archived) - Thanks to the liturgical cycle of readings, this Webinar based on the Sunday readings for Advent, Year C, which we are about to begin, is once again in vogue (much like a broken clock is right twice a day!)
- An Advent Prayer Service - I put this prayer service together a couple of years ago to use for the school of religion Advent prayer.
- An Advent Guided Reflection on Emmanuel - This is a guided reflection I wrote several years ago for 4th graders.

- An Advent Calendar for Adults

Dear Joe,
I watched your Advent Webinar and once again it is rich with insights for how to help the Scriptures come alive for people. You mentioned there was a PDF available and I wondered how I might download it?
Thank you again for the rich jewels you provide us with.
God bless~
