New Voices Coming to Catechist’s Journey

New Voices Coming to Catechist's Journey

It’s hard to believe that in just a few short months we will be celebrating the eighth anniversary of Catechist’s Journey! Along the way, I’ve written over 1850 posts, most focused on my experiences teaching multiple grade levels at two different parishes. A major goal for me has always been to keep things fresh.

This year, in perhaps my boldest move yet, I have moved into the world of adult faith formation, seeking to contribute to the Church’s efforts to make adult catechesis a priority and the chief form of catechesis that it is designed to be. In doing so, however, I did not want to lose sight of child and youth catechesis, which is such a huge part of parish faith formation. With that in mind, I am very excited to announce that some new voices will join Catechist’s Journey this year! These catechists will join me in offering their creative ideas and real-life experiences in settings serving primary grades to junior high. As I have done over these many years, they will often share their goals for a lesson and then report on what really happened.

In addition, we will also welcome some voices to speak to the needs of catechetical leaders, addressing the many facets of faith formation and how we can improve, not only individual lessons, but entire programs.

I, of course, will not be going anywhere! I’ll be right here on Catechist’s Journey, offering glimpses into my experiences working in adult catechesis and commenting on the posts on child catechesis and catechetical leadership. I invite you to enter into the conversations, too, so that they will be robust.

Some of the new content will be appearing gradually this month, and soon we will introduce you to our new cadre of contributors to Catechist’s Journey. Now would be a great time to subscribe to this blog so you don’t miss any of the excitement (link in sidebar).

I hope and pray that Catechist’s Journey will continue to serve as a valuable resource for all involved in catechetical ministry for years to come.
