Praying the Daily Examen

Featured Video

Becky Eldredge, author of Busy Lives & Restless Souls, loves praying the Examen, a method of prayer that involves reflection on the past 24 hours of your life. She explains the steps of this defining Ignatian prayer in the below video.

Pray this way with young people using Finding God Grades 7 and 8. The Examen is also a great prayer for families, as Eric Gurash explains in his article Where Have You Been, Lord? Praying the Examen with Your Families.

What has been your experience praying the Examen with the young people in your faith formation group? Have you introduced families to the Examen?

  1. Becky does a great job explaining the examen but the words for the hard of hearing are wrong. Many times she is saying God and it says guys or guide. Please fix. So that all may learn it correctly. Blessings.

    • Julie, thank you for letting us know. The closed-captioning was automatically added by YouTube, so it clearly misunderstood some words.
