California Dreamin'!

I spent the weekend in northern California and had the privilege of speaking at the Faith Formation Conference sponsored by 5 dioceses, held in Santa Clara. I did 2 presentations – one on introducing kids to the Bible (God’s Library) and one on catechist skills and qualities (The Catechist’s Toolbox). Each workshop had between 150 and 200 participants and we had a wonderful time together!

I enjoy meeting so many wonderful catechists from all these different parts of the country! We met one catechist – a religious – who has been a catechist for 43 years! You should have seen the smile on her face that would not go away…she was just beaming with happiness! God bless her!

To top it all off, I got to stay the weekend with my cousin Mike and his wife Mary Kay and their kids, Mike, Megan, and Molly. Cousin Mike and I, along with our siblings, shared a lot of growing up together and it was just awesome to be able to catch up with him (he’s been out in CA for 30 years!).

God is good.
