Forming a 3-Dimensional Catechist:
BEING, KNOWING, and DOING
The General Directory for Catechesis reminds us that “No methodology, no matter how well tested, can dispense with the person of the catechist in every phase of the catechetical process.” (156) To that end, the Church needs to ensure that catechists are well-prepared and formed to effectively carry out their ministry. In fact, the Church teaches us that catechist formation must be a priority and that such formation must cover 3 areas: being, knowing, and doing.
In this highly interactive and unique Webinar, master catechist Joe Paprocki will lead catechists through a variety of formation exercises designed to help them grow in these 3 critical areas:
- Being: formation that helps catechists to discover their vocation and to mature as a person, a believer, and a disciple of Jesus.
- Knowing: formation that helps catechists to embrace their faith, acquiring sufficient knowledge of the Catholic Tradition they are called to transmit.
- Doing: formation that helps catechists to more effectively proclaim the message of the Gospel and actively engage participants.
Stay tuned for registration information!
I would like to register for the Forming a 3-Dimensional Catechist webinar and be on your email list.
Hi Linda, the registration link will be announced here soon, but you can register now here.
Do please let me (us) know when this webinar becomes available as an archive. I don’t have the physical endurance to do it all in one piece these days, so I really appreciate being able to watch it in pieces. Thank you, Joe!
Hi Joe,
Can the webinar be heard in Spanish? Thanks!
Hi Patricia. At this point, no.
Joe,
How long do you expect the webinar to be? I have a scheduled meeting that night and since I have my Catechists together I thought we might include the webinar.
Kathy
Kathy, it will be 75 mins. It will also be recorded so if you don’t get to participate in its entirety, folks can view it at home at their convenience (we post the recording on my blog within a few days of the live event)
