I just spent a wonderful morning with a number of catechetical leaders and catechists about an hour out of Denver in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO! I am especially grateful that everything worked out because just about 36 hours ago, I was in bed with a fever and a cough that had me barking like a dog. Luckily, I was able to see the doc on Tuesday, get some meds, rest up, and fly out Wednesday and do my presentation today, sans fever (and very little cough). Thank you, Jesus!
A great big THANK YOU to the many good folks who came out to spend the morning exploring ways to provide meaningfuland practical formation for our catechists. Thanks to everyone for understanding that I was a little bit wobbly and for picking up the slack with some outstanding participation! Thanks to Kathy Bull (Total Catholic Education & Youth/Young Adult Ministries Assistant) for making all the arrangements for the day and to Michelle Maher, (Director of Catechesis for the Diocese of Colorado Springs) for welcoming us all. Thanks to the staff at Our Lady of the Pines for hosting us and for your wonderful hospitality!
I fly home tomorrow and begin planning my lesson for this coming Monday’s session with my 4th graders! I haven’t seen them for a couple of weeks because of holidays and special events in the RE program.
You were spectacular today. If you didn’t tell us you had been ill, we would have never known!! Our catechists, PCL’s, Youth Ministers, core leaders for Baptism, RCIA, Sacramental preparation were very blessed by your words of wisdom and insight. Thank YOU for coming out here! We hope you will come back!
Thanks so much, Kathy! God is good and his grace (as well as the spirit present in all you Colorado Springs folks!) really energized me and pulled me through. I’m so appreciative that you pulled so many various catechetical folks together for the day and I’m thrilled that things went so well. Thanks for having me and I’d love to come back!
As a CO native living in exile, I knew immediately how beautiful OLP’s grounds are. And beautiful people too. Glad you were well enough to make the trip. God bless all the people of Colorado Springs!
Phyllis, Amen to that…beautiful place, beautiful people!
