Prayer of Aging Disciple by Barbara Lee

Author Barbara Lee reminds us that “We are all aging from the day we are born.” And the call to discipleship doesn’t end when we turn a certain age, though how we live that call might. Consider your continuing call to discipleship by praying the “Prayer of an Aging Disciple.” This prayer, excerpted from Barbara’s new book, Answering God’s Call: A Scripture-Based Journey for Older Adults, is presented in three formats:

  • Full-color printable prayer designed for posting in a prayer corner or over your desk
  • Coloring page for creative contemplation
  • Group prayer version for use in a discipleship-focused prayer service or to open or close sessions of an Answering God’s Call book club

Use the prayer as part of your parish or school celebrations of World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly in July, or Grandparents Day in September. Invite children to color the coloring page version to present to a special older adult in their lives.
