Catechetical Formation Series Now Available in Spanish

Serie de formación catequética de Loyola Press

I am very excited to announce that our popular online formation and training experience for catechists, the Catechetical Formation Series, is now available in Spanish! Introducing Serie de formación catequética!

The Catechetical Formation Series is a program I developed for Loyola Press to provide basic training and formation for catechists in the areas of being, knowing, and doing. As the program grew in popularity, along with that came requests for a Spanish version. To guide the project, I turned to my good friend, Ana Barraza, a long-time member of the Loyola Press Speaker Corps and a pastoral minister in the Diocese of Sacramento, CA. Ana expertly translated, adapted, and recorded the Spanish version of all ten sessions of the program, which is now available for individuals or parishes.

The ten sessions cover the following topics:

  • Sesión de aprendizaje 1: Comenzar y conocer a sus alumnos / Getting Started and Getting to Know Your Learners
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 2: El proceso catequético / The Catechetical Process
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 3: La oración y la dirección de la oración / Prayer and Leading Prayer
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 4: Aptitudes de facilitación y manejo de situaciones complicadas / Facilitation Skills and Handling Difficult Situations
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 5: Lo que creemos: el Credo / What We Believe—The Creed
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 6: Lo que creemos: los sacramentos / What We Believe—The Sacraments
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 7: Lo que creemos: la vida moral / What We Believe—The Moral Life
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 8: Lo que creemos: la oración / What We Believe—Prayer
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 9: Comprender la Palabra de Dios: las Sagradas Escrituras / Understanding God’s Word—Scripture
  • Sesión de aprendizaje 10: La persona del catequista / The Person of the Catechist

Spread the word: La Serie de formación catequética ya está aquí!
