To help celebrate the 5th anniversary of my blog, The Catechist’s Journey, I’ve invited a number of people to be guest bloggers here over the course of a week! Great job, Joe. Love all the pics, what a welcoming bunch!
Hi Joe–loved the presentation at Green Bay! I am using your HELP during our common prayer/teaching time at Faith Formation tonight : ) I wanted to share with you an excellent resource that I have used to be liturgical with classes: “Liturgical Gestures, Wrods, Objects” by Notre Dame Center for Pastoral Liturgy, 1995. I was introduced to this at a graduate course on Lay Presiding. I used portions of it as the framework for my Confirmation/Sponsor day of Reflection and practice for the Sacrament of Confirmation. We talked about “body praying” as we walked through practice for the liturgy. It was very prayerful and really helped the students to get into the solemnity of the liturgical gestures and postures of the practice & the celebration. Thanks, again for your inspiring and affirming talk–you are a blessing. Peace, Mary Armbrust: Youth Minister/Faith Formation Director, St. Mary Parish & SS. Joseph & Edward Parish
