Last Night's Class, Tonight's Webinar
Last evening, my students took their Confirmation exam. I haven’t had a chance to correct them yet, however, I can tell from a quick glance that there are no disasters awaiting me. In previous years, I had one or two kids who left full pages blank. Not this time. Before the exam, I gave them time to study and to quiz one another. I then told them that the Catholic faith was like a family […]
Thanks, Joe —
Great presentation. Took away many great ideas. Looking forward to Session Two !!
Thanks, Deana! I’m looking forward to Part 2 as well!
Joe,
I am a 62 year old retired guy, who thought it would be a good idea to be catechist because my 10 year old and I would be in on the same schedule. Of course I didn’t realize that I would not be in charge of where I will be helping out. It then slowly occurred to me that the Spirit was moving me this way. I don’t I think I have enjoyed a new undertaking as much as I have the journey to be a catechist. I am brand new and old enough to know I don’t know what I am doing, yet. But, hey, I am not in charge, the Holy Spirit is. So am praying I will not make a fool of myself while I gain the skills to be an effective catechist. Your
class, that I have been listening to the recording of has helped me to calm down.
Regards,
Bill Walker
Bill, thanks for sharing your story…it is very inspiring to see someone so open to the Holy Spirit and willing to be led out of one’s comfort zone! I’m glad that you’re enjoying things so much and I’m sure the kids will love having a grandfatherly-type man teaching them about the love of God! Best wishes and keep in touch!
On Aug 19th you mentioned a pdf that was available about ice breakers. I cant find it. I love the webinar & would really like help finding this bit of information
Hmmm, I can’t seem to recall any mention of a pdf about ice breakers, Gail. I did mention a pdf about 11 Tips for Lesson Planning. Check out my August 19 post for a link to that. Sorry if I said something during the Webinar that misled you!
Gail, I did come across this on the Loyola Press Website: http://www.loyolapress.com/back-to-school-activities.htm?ftm=ocf
