I spent an absolutely wonderful day with about 230 catechists and catechetical leaders in Laredo, Texas, just a mile or so from the U.S./Mexico border. I was privileged to provide a day of formation for these good folks who came with so much spirit and enthusiasm…they were quite inspiring. One catechist in attendance has 46 years of catechizing under her belt! And there she is at a catechist’s workshop! Amazing people.
Thanks to everyone for the warm hospitality (and the warm weather!) and I wish you all abundant blessings! Here are a few pics:
The day began with Adoration. Nothing beats silence for a good “keynote!”
Glad you enjoyed your visit to the Lone Star State! Hope you manage to make your way back again…maybe to deep south Texas, the Diocese of Brownsville? It would be awesome!
Thanks, Veronica…it was a wonderful experience!
It was awesome to have you here! Hopefully you can come again one day to share with more people -i know of some other catechists that couldnt make it- we were so happy to learn techniques; i just started tonight the box of tools in spanish, excellent resource!!! I will be reading “the instructions” on how to be a better catechist. I will be teaching first communion this year. I can’t wait to share all this ideas with the other catechists and specially with the children :))
Thanks for your comments Samantha! You sound SO enthusiastic…it is contagious! Have a great year teaching First Communion!
