My friend Victor Valdez, a DRE in Mountain View, CA, sent me this link about an 8th grade language arts teacher in Iowa who invited his students to select a name from the CNN Heroes finalists so that he could arrange for them to speak with him or her using SKYPE.

Victor astutely suggests that this would be a great idea for a religious education class in a parish that has Skype technology. Think about it: a class could have a conversation with a missionary in a far away country or with the bishop of their diocese or of a distant diocese or even with a Vatican official! I’m itching to try this idea out before the end of the year!
What others ways can you see using Skype technology for religious education?
