Tonight, I got to take a peek at the room that I will be teaching in this year…it’s the school library! I’m so excited because the focus of 6th grade is the Old Testament and one of the images that I love to use to teach about the Bible is “God’s Library!” Also the room is carpeted which will be very conducive to guided reflections. I’ll have 14 students and I plan to move some of the tables together so that we can sit around a large square with the prayer center in the middle of the tables. I’m one lucky catechist!

In the Book of Job, God responds to Job’s laments […]
Prophets Rock!

Three of my most rambunctious students were absent last night and while I was disappointed they missed the experience, it certainly made for a very calm evening! After welcoming the young people back from the holidays, we did a little review about the Ark of the Covenant and I showed them how I placed many of their prayer symbols in our own […]
Entering the Stories of Genesis (Creation, Adam and Eve, Cain and Abel)
For Monday evening’s session, we will begin exploring the stories of Genesis, beginning with Creation, Adam and Eve, and Cain and Abel. Nice setup! There is a lot of spiritual enrichment activities that can be done in a room like that. Thanks for sharing. 🙂
