Great Resources for Sacramental Preparation

God's Gift resources for sacramental preparation

I’m very excited to tell you about some wonderful resources for sacramental preparation from Loyola Press!

A new edition of the already popular God’s Gift program for First Eucharist and First Reconciliation, available in English and bilingual versions, includes some wonderful new features:

  • God’s Gift Intermediate was developed to pass on the truth and beauty of the sacraments to teens or other young people preparing to celebrate the sacraments out of typical sequence.
  • God’s Gift: Confirmation in the Restored Order was specifically created to support dioceses that celebrate the Sacrament of Confirmation in the Restored Order.
  • God’s Gift Video Series provides two sets of five videos each (one set for Reconciliation, one set for Eucharist), with tracks in your choice of English or Spanish.
    • DVD 1: The essence of the sacrament is presented through a heartwarming story of family and faith.
    • DVD 2: This informative documentary explains the rite along with “what to expect,” helping children and parents prepare to celebrate the sacrament.
    • DVD 3: Master catechists share key faith concepts in engaging mini lessons, following the child’s book chapter by chapter.
    • DVD 4: Catholics of all ages share testimonials of the grace they have found in living a sacramental life.
    • DVD 5: Video “shorts” teach prayers and practices of our faith, including the Lord’s Prayer, the Ten Commandments, the Beatitudes, and the Act of Contrition.
