Another LAREC—Los Angeles Religious Education Congress—is in the books and, as always, it was a phenomenal experience to be with over 40,000 brothers and sisters in Christ, all of whom were fired up for the mission of proclaiming God’s word to all people. It was an honor and a privilege to give two presentations to a total of nearly 1000 participants, and I was fed and nourished by the breakout sessions I attended (especially those by Fr. Ed Foley, OFM, CAP, from the Catholic Theological Union at Chicago and Dr. Johan von Parys from the Basilica of Saint Mary in Minneapolis—both excellent speakers). I especially enjoyed meeting so many people at the Loyola Press exhibit in the exhibit hall and talking about the ministry we love so dearly. Here are a few pictorial highlights from the weekend.
Here I am with half of the crowd from my Sunday presentation—couldn’t fit the whole crowd into the selfie! |
I had the happy privilege of enjoying breakfast with Margaret Matijasevic, Executive Director of NCCL, along with my colleagues Tom McGrath and Andrew Yankech. |
My wife Joanne and I enjoyed getting together with Diana Macalintal, Director of the Liturgy Office in the Diocese of San Jose, CA, and her husband Nick Wagner, who runs TeamRCIA. |
Enjoying time with customers at the beautiful Loyola Press exhibit. |
