With Lent just over a week away (Ash Wednesday is February 14, 2024.), I’d like to invite you to make plans to focus on the life of Jesus this season through two special opportunities.

  • Lenten Read-Along—Each year Loyola Press hosts a Lenten Read-Along, which is an opportunity to join with others in reading an inspirational book at a relaxed pace, giving time to savor what we read during Lent. This year’s Lenten Read-Along invites us to read and reflect on Andrea Tornielli’s The Life of Jesus, a beautiful and unique biography of Jesus in which the author masterfully interlaces the Gospels, his own impactful and imaginative reflections, and the inspiring insights of Pope Francis. Post about your participation with #lentreadalong on social media.
  • Journey Through the Life of Jesus: A Lenten Webinar—Join me on February 21 for a Lenten webinar featuring Andrea Tornielli, the author of The Life of Jesus, and Sr. Bernadette Reis, FSP, the translator of The Life of Jesus, as they talk about how we can nourish ourselves daily during Lent with the Word of God in Scripture. Register for this Lenten webinar here.

Together, let’s use the season of Lent to enter more deeply into the profound mysteries of Christ’s life through direct and daily contact with the Gospels as presented to us in The Life of Jesus.
