It’s hard (if not impossible) to imagine how Mikolaj Kopernik managed to deduce, and create a mathematical model for, the heliocentric system using nothing but the naked eye for making observations. Think of what he could have done with Galileo’s telescope.

Hey have you seen Katyn? We got it from Netflix last week. The characters speak Polish, German, and Russian, and it’s captioned in English. But when the Russians or Germans speak it’s also captioned in Polish. The movie prompted us to reflect on how life in 20th century Poland prepared JP2 for his work against Communism.
Haven’t seen it yet…thanks for the recommendation.
