One of the hallmarks of Catholic spirituality is the practice of going on a pilgrimage, a spiritual journey to a location of significance to our faith. In the centuries following Jesus’ Death, Resurrection, and Ascension, it was common practice for people to visit Jerusalem and retrace the steps of Jesus as he was led to his Crucifixion on Calvary. As time passed and Christianity spread, it became increasingly difficult for people to travel to the Holy Land for this pilgrimage. As a result, the Church developed a pilgrimage in place—a devotion known as the Stations (or Way) of the Cross—so that followers of Jesus could continue to retrace his steps to the Cross. In this episode of Pop-Up Catechesis, we explore the Stations of the Cross.

Hello, Our Religious Ed this year is strictly on-line and we have 30 families registered. We have a restricted FB page for our 30 families and catechists. May I post the link to the Stations of the Cross for children in our FB page? If yes, would it be free or would I have to pay and how much?
Thank you and God bless,
Julia Torres – DRE, Our Lady of Perpetual Help Parish, Ewa Beach, Hawaii
