Welcome to Catechist’s Journey, a blog for sharing the journey of teaching the Catholic faith. You’ve arrived here from a link at DRE Connect. That site is no longer being updated, but we hope you enjoy all that Catechist’s Journey has to offer. Here’s a brief tour of what to expect.
Joe Paprocki is the lead voice of this blog. He has been involved in catechetical ministry for more than 30 years and is the National Consultant for Faith Formation at Loyola Press. Learn more about Joe here.
In the fall of 2014, a team of new contributors (several of whom you’ll recognize from DRE Connect) joined Joe to share their perspectives and experiences in faith formation. Meet the team here.
Here at Catechist’s Journey, you’ll find:
- Stories from real catechists and catechetical leaders, sharing the ups and downs of their work in the field.
- Activity and webinar archives from this site’s eight years online.
- Your favorite articles from DRE Connect in their new home here.

Thank you for creating such a connection, after 20 + doing this I took a break for 4 and now back in the saddle, my love, my mission is Catechesis, Youth Component is an important part of my ministry. I find it harder this round to convince Catechists to give it their all and see themselves as missionaries not “volunteers”
