During June and July, many catechists from all over the world participated in on online retreat here at Catechist’s Journey, focusing on the spirituality of the catechist. I’ve been getting some inquiries from people about whether or not they can participate in the retreat during the upcoming catechetical year. The answer is CERTAINLY! Of course there won’t be as much interaction as there was when the retreat was “live” but all of the content is still there (here!). To make it easy for you, I’m providing links to the retreat below. I suggest you bookmark this page for easy access to the online retreat.

As Our Online Retreat Wraps Up: THANK YOU!
As our online retreat for catechists winds down, I’d like to take this opportunity to send out a great big THANK YOU to all of you who participated and made it such a success! Over these past 7 weeks, we have formed an online community of catechists, dedicated to deepening our spirituality so that we may follow Jesus more closely and invite others to do the same. While it is a “virtual” community, it is […]
Experiencing God with Our Senses Online Retreat
Quite often, for my train ride to and from home and Loyola Press, I bring along a book to read. Currently, I am reading and enjoying Ginny Kubitz Moyer’s Taste and See: Experiencing the Goodness of God with Our Five Senses. What I love about this book is that it captures the sensuality of the Catholic faith and especially Ignatian spirituality. Don’t be misled by that word sensuality, which we too often equate with sexuality. To be […]
Q & A from Lenten Webinar
Just a reminder that a recording of my Lenten Webinar will be posted here shortly…stay tuned. In the meantime, I received a number of questions from participants during the Webinar and did not have time to address them that evening so I’m happy to do so now. Here they are: Lent 2013 Webinar Q & A (PDF) Lenten Webinar Q & A – Word Document Lenten Webinar Q & A (Word 97-03) [photo courtesy of Matt […]
This training session sounds great. I can’t make any of the live presentations coming up but am very interested in when it will be available. I am running a catechist training session on September 8 and 10 and I would love to see what your topics are to help me with training. I am the director of religious education for elementary school age children K-5. Thanks so much!
Lorraine, the recordings of the Webinars will most definitely be available by then. I’ll announce it on my blog and provide the link. Stay tuned.
This is my first time teaching and I have no clue where to begin! I will be teaching first grade so I want to make sure I teach them everything they need to know. Can you point me in the right direction for the appropriate tools I will need to be the “best” first grade Catechist. Thank you and God Bless.
