My 2 Minutes of Fame – The Damen Award Video

I mentioned in a previous post that I was honored to receive the Damen Award on behalf of the Institute for Pastoral Studies of Loyola University of Chicago at their annual Founders Dinner earlier this month. When my moment in the spotlight came, I was seated on stage with my fellow awardees in front of a huge screen showing a video that highlighted each of us for about 2 minutes. The funny thing was, however, that they instructed us to not turn around and watch our segment as it was being shown, so I never got to see what was being shown about me! Thankfully, they sent me a copy of the DVD a week later! I’ve edited the video so that you don’t need to sit through the bios of all 10 awardees and have posted it below for your enjoyment. I do, however, need to make a few disclaimers:

  1. They credit me with having 2 Masters degrees…I have one!
  2. They credit me with working with Kolbe House prison ministry in Chicago…I simply support them financially when possible.
  3. They depict me as stocking shelves in the warehouse with the assistance of colleague Luis Sanchez…in reality Luis and others do ALL the work!

🙂
