Dry Run for REP Kick Off Nite

Last evening, I got together with Deb, the DRE at St. Cajetan, to do a “dry run” in preparation for next Tuesday’s Kick-Off for the Religious Education program. We had many logistics to go over such as the sound system, the lighting, the video, the music and so on. In particular, I realized that I have to practice my timing with the songs/videos that I’ll be projecting throughout the prayer service…it’s as if I’m the “DJ” for the event!

We ended up making a few tweaks but overall, things are looking good for next week’s event – the first time that the parish is beginning REP with the parents present for the entire evening as a way to begin chipping away at the “drop-off” mentality and to approach the children’s faith formation program with the primacy of adult faith formation in mind.

Here is the entire script of the evening including the prayer service: Cajetan Kick-off event final script

Here’s a pic of Deb looking over her parts in sync with the video and music that I have playing (my computer, projector, and speakers are to the left of her).
