Catechetical Sunday is less than a month away! This year’s theme is “Prayer: The Faith Prayed,” drawing from the fourth pillar of our Catholic faith (Creed, Sacraments, Morality, and Prayer). The National Conference for Catechetical Leadership (NCCL) has put together a Catechetical Sunday Digital Toolkit with links to a number of excellent resources, for not only Catechetical Sunday, but also for deepening the prayer lives of God’s People.
Of course, the USCCB (United States Conference of Catholic Bishops) has an excellent webpage for Catechetical Sunday with links to numerous resources, including an article that I was asked to write: “What Every Catechist Needs to Know About Leading Others in Prayer.”
Finally, be sure to visit the Loyola Press Catechetical Sunday webpage, which includes a special 3-Minute Retreat for catechists and links to helpful resources for catechists and Catholic school teachers.
What is your parish doing for Catechetical Sunday? Be sure to let us know!
Hi Joe,
It’s been awhile since our paths have crossed. I created a PokéSaints Go activity. I just had to figure out how to capitalize on the “craze” and make it Catholic. The kids had fun with it, if you’d like to share it, let me know and I’ll send you the files via dropbox. The works done and I’m happy to share. Thanks. Hope you are doing well… come back to Atlanta soon!
Sounds like fun, Joyce! I’d love to take a look. Send it to me via DropBox at Paprocki@loyolapress.com. Thanks! -joe
