Experiencing Screen Fatigue? Engage Children with Books This Fall!

Pope Francis Says covers in English and Spanish

Let’s face it: as a result of social distancing, many of us and our children are spending a lot more time sitting in front of a screen these past few months! While convenient, it does indeed result in a kind of fatigue. Do yourself and your children a favor this fall, and get your hands on some great books in hard-copy form.

One of my favorites, and a book that my wife and I read to our grandchildren, is Pope Francis Says… The kids love the illustrations, which are so friendly and inviting. And the message of the book shows them how to live as Christians and know they are loved by God but in a style that is not preachy. Another great thing about the book is that it has “extras” available to download, such as these posters.

Loyola Press has a number of wonderful children’s books that have accompanying activities that you can explore; just follow this link.

So, take a break from screen time, and engage your children with a “real” book!
