How Star Wars Gives Voice to the Spiritual Journey: A Webinar

How Star Wars Gives Voice to the Spiritual Journey: A Webinar with Eric Clayton - author pictured against space-like background with text

I have long been a fan of science fiction. (I’m old enough to remember enjoying the original Star Trek series on TV when I was a kid and the first Star Wars film in the theater as a teenager.) One of the things I enjoy about the genre is its exploration of spiritual themes. It’s as if the genre itself provides us with a venue for exploring spiritual issues freed from any “baggage” of institutional religion. Often, in such venues, we discover the language to capture and express our experiences of spiritual realities.

So, you can understand why I’m just a wee bit excited to host a webinar with author Eric Clayton as he shares his thoughts on “How Star Wars Gives Voice to the Spiritual Journey.” Eric will be drawing from his wonderful new book, My Life with the Jedi: The Spirituality of Star Wars. In particular, Eric will share how the Star Wars epic invites us to reflect on spiritual realities and helps us to articulate such experiences in everyday language, while also showing how the mysteries of the Force resonate with the depths of Ignatian spirituality. This webinar is an ideal opportunity to reach youth and young adults with a non-threatening and inviting portal into the spiritual life.

Please join us for what is guaranteed to be a fun and engaging journey into the spiritual aspects of the Star Wars universe!
