I had a marvelous time at the National Conference for Catechetical Leadership (NCCL) in Las Vegas this week! Not because it was in Vegas (although that was fun) but because the NCCL is like a huge family reunion! I got to see so many good friends who are DREs, Diocesan directors and staff, publishers, and catechists and made MANY new friends, including a number of folks who visit my blog regularly…how nice to meet you in person. It is great to mingle with so many folks who are so dedicated to the catechetical ministry…very inspiring. Here are some pics.
We kept up the tradition of gathering the Chicago folks for dinner one evening…about 20 of us: DREs, staff of the Chicago catechetical office, and a couple of us publishing folks.
On my way to do my workshop, I ran into this nice display from Loyola Press…thanks for plugging my books!
Loyola Press sponsored a luncheon for about 60 Diocesan Directors…what a magificent gathering of catechetical wisdom!
Here I am behaving myself at the Dicoesean Director’s lunch!
I enjoyed a long stroll down the Vegas strip on a beautiful evening!
Here are 2 of my Loyola Press colleagues (Cathy Joyce and Nikki Caso) conducting a workshop on catechesis for pre-school/kindergarten kids.

Looks like the old SNL skits where they consumed brats & beers, and between heart attacks argued the Greatness of Ditka.
Ditka….Ditka….Ditka….Bears….Bears….Ditka….
My friends and I really enjoyed your workshop at the NCCL. Very inspiring! We’re busy planning our presentation (using your material from The Catechist’s Toolbox) at our annual Diocescan Religious Education “Journey of Faith” Conference. We’re very excited about it and hope to do you proud.
Linda, thanks much and best wishes with your Journey of Faith!
