One of the most well-known Gospel verses is John 3:16: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” This passage captures one of God’s most defining attributes: generosity and selflessness. What an incredibly generous and selfless act on God’s part to give us his only Son, Jesus, who, in turn, gave his life for us on the Cross and gave himself to us in the Eucharist! We, in turn, are called to live in the divine image (Imago Dei) and to share generously and selflessly with others. To do so is to tap into divine energy.
