If you were to create a pie chart showing how much time you devote to your home life (including sleeping), work, exercise, socializing, and hobbies, how big of a slice would you show for spirituality? For many of us, we might be tempted to add up the time we spend in spiritual practices such as going to church, praying, reading the Bible and other inspirational literature, and perhaps visiting a spiritual director or participating in a prayer group. Even adding those together, the slice would still be relatively small compared to other activities in our lives. This activity, however, reveals a flaw in how many of us approach spirituality, as if it is just another slice of the pie. In this episode of Pop-Up Catechesis, we address this flaw and explore the proper approach to understanding spirituality.

Although I always appreciate your sports analogies…this was MY KIND OF ANALOGY!! Yum! Thank you for this great way of reminding us that every moment of every day we are experiencing God and that we should always be on the lookout for how the Holy Spirit is moving in our lives, knowing that the more intentional we are about looking and seeking, we will see just how wildly active God is in all the little and big parts of our lives.
Mmmmm…pumpkin pie!!! 😉 Thanks, Kelly!
