I enjoyed spending the day yesterday with about 50 “Cheeseheads” which of course is the nickname given to Green Bay Packers’ fans. As they celebrate their Superbowl victory, they were gracious enough to welcome this Chicago Bears fan into their midst for a Being, Knowing, and Doing professional development workshop. We had the most wonderful day together and talked about so many ideas and strategies for taking care of our catechists. Thanks to Gary Pokorny, the Director of Catechesis and Youth Ministry for the Archdiocese of Milwaukee for arranging this fine day! Congrats to all you Cheeseheads (but wait till next year…Da Bears will be back!) Here are some pics from our day yesterday.

Editor’s note: This summer, we will be highlighting success stories from the field. Let’s share our stories of what works to inspire each other to great things in faith formation ministries! Today, Megan Arteaga tells us about Parent-Teen Date Night in youth ministry. As youth ministers, we want more parental involvement. We want more parents as adult leaders; we want more parents driving carpools; we want more parents as chaperones; heck, we’d be happy with […]
Autumn in New York
New York is indeed beautiful in Autumn! I spent the last couple of days in the Dutchess/Ulster County area and the fall colors are already showing in such splendor, especially along the Taconic State Parkway. I did two Being, Knowing, and Doing professional development workshops for catechetical leaders in the region and had a very nice time visiting with these hard-working and dedicated folks. So here’s a SHOUT OUT to all the folks I met […]
A Mile High!
I just spent a wonderful morning with a number of catechetical leaders and catechists about an hour out of Denver in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO! I am especially grateful that everything worked out because just about 36 hours ago, I was in bed with a fever and a cough that had me barking like a dog. Luckily, I was able to see the doc on Tuesday, get some meds, rest up, and fly out Wednesday […]
Thanks for reenergizing our ministries last week! I tried out some of the spiritual being information with our parents and it was well received. PS: There are some Bears fans out there in Wisconsin 😉
Thanks Kristen! Glad to hear it went well. So, with you, I guess its safe to say, “Go Bears!” 🙂
Joe,
This day was WONDERFUL. It’s always difficult to pry myself away from the office because I know what I will face when I return. You made “re-entry” completely worth it. Thank you so much for sharing your great ideas, your materials and your experience!
Peace and all good things,
Lisa Jachimiec
