Hurray for Harrisburg, PA!

Although I forgot to take a picture of the lovely crowd of 100+ catechists and catechetical leaders who gathered in Lancaster, PA (Diocese of Harrisburg) last Saturday, I did want to take a moment to send along this shout-out and express my gratitude for such a wonderful day as we explored what it means to live Under the Influence of Jesus.

Thanks to Diocesan Director of Religious Education Jim Gontis for spending the day with us and for spreading his enthusiasm for the Good News of Jesus with all present.

Jim also graciously asked if I would plug a very nice brochure he wrote called Top Ten Ways to Become an Outstanding Catechist which is a good resource to support current catechists and to recruit new ones.

I’m home now for a couple of weeks before hitting the road in October: Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Nova Scotia!

  1. I’ll put in a good word for Jim’s brochure — it’s a very thoughtful and inspiring reflection on the catechetical ministry. We’ll be handing out copies to all the attendees at our diocesan catechetical conference in November!

(Under the Influence of Jesus is great, too!)
