Award-Winning Catholic Books from Loyola Press

2017 Catholic Press Association Book Awards for Loyola Press

I’m excited to announce that my book A Church on the Move: 52 Ways to Get Mission and Mercy in Motion received second-place honors in the Pastoral Ministry category of the 2017 Catholic Press Association Book Awards. The judges said: “This book provides practical, realistic strategies for the clergy, lay leaders and faithful to work at transforming parish life to lead others to an encounter with the transforming grace of Jesus Christ. This is a practical guide to implement what Pope Francis has asked the Church to do for the new evangelization.” For an at-a-glance look at the 52 ways, check out this post.

Loyola Press books received Catholic Press Association accolades for seven books in multiple categories.

Dear Pope Francis, which was recently named 2017 Book of the Year in the Excellence in Publishing awards from the Association of Catholic Publishers, won two first-place awards from the Catholic Press Association: First Place, Pope Francis Books, and First Place, Children’s Books. The judges said, “Destined to become a classic. This book should be in every home.” Think about using Dear Pope Francis in the classroom too, and download free prayer cards inspired by the letters of Pope Francis.

Some of you may remember that last summer, IgnatianSpirituality.com (also sponsored by Loyola Press) explored ways of finding God through using our five senses. That series was inspired by the second-place honoree in Popular Presentation of the Catholic Faith, Taste and See by Ginny Kubitz Moyer. Speaking of IgnatianSpirituality.com, the annual 31 Days with St. Ignatius has begun and features articles from Moyer and Joseph A. Tetlow, SJ, author of Always Discerning, which took home First Place in Spirituality.
