Introducing Catholics to the Bible (Video)

Bible Blueprint by Joe Paprocki - also available in Spanish

St. Jerome famously said, “Ignorance of Scripture is ignorance of Christ.” Unfortunately, for many Catholics, the Bible still remains a bit of a stranger and becomes an untapped source for deepening our relationship with Jesus. Too many of us still feel ill-equipped when it comes to navigating the Bible and interpreting what we read. With that in mind, I have put together a video introduction to the Bible that catechists can use with adults and young people (grade 5 and up) to help them take the first steps to a deeper and more fulfilling relationship with God’s Word in Scripture.

This video draws from and serves as an introduction to my book, The Bible Blueprint: A Catholic’s Guide to Understanding and Embracing God’s Word, which, along with the accompanying leader guide, you might consider using to lead sessions introducing Catholics to the Bible. This would make for an excellent Lenten activity.

Let’s help Catholics to be in “direct and daily contact” with God’s Word in Scripture, as Pope Francis says, so as to encounter Christ more deeply.
